Description
Empathetic Topographies: Displacements, Disorientations, and the Politics of Immersion

Fluidity is a key aspect of Pedro Matias' work. To try to map this fluidity without subjecting it to crippling containment is, necessarily, to fail.

Nevertheless, Heidi Brunnschweiler, Carolien Hermans and Pedro themself attempt to do so, each providing us with their own speculative views on an artistic practice that asks for fantasy and playfulness, while maintaining a well-defined critical approach both to the methods of producing the work as well as the conceptual thinking behind it.

The result is this three-voiced publication which reads as a series of charts informing a possible path through Pedro's imagination.

Guiding, yet leaving space for the reader to gaze and interpret.
